Congratulations Dr. Yadong Wang!

We are extremely proud to introduce you to Dr. Yadong Wang! On August 13th, Dr. Wang successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation entitled “The Physiological and Molecular Mechanisms of Nitrogen Excretion in the Early Life Stages of Mahi-Mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) and Zebrafish (Danio rerio). It has been an honor to work with her and be a part of her Ph.D. journey through RECOVER at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. We are excited to see what the future holds for her as she continues on into her post-doctoral research at the Rosenstiel School. Below, please find a short video that captures some of the research Dr. Wang conducts and some kind words from Dr. Grosell:

“Yadong successfully defended her Ph.D. last week exactly four years after arriving in Miami. As an illustration of Yadong’s dedication and competence her Ph.D., which have resulted in one published paper, one accepted paper pending revisions and one manuscript in advanced stages of preparation was completed more than 18 months faster than the average Ph.D. in our department at RSMAS. This feat is impressive by itself but becomes even more so when considering that Yadong, a Chinese national, transitioned to an entirely different culture and had to master a different language during her Ph.D. Yadong came to Miami with strong skills in molecular biology, skills she has developed further during her dissertation research. Yadong is a highly respected and well-liked member of our group and I am delighted to be able to keep her in the lab as a postdoctoral fellow until next summer.
